#44: since most of the next six come from Konsmo parish, Vest-Agder, "Skosteland" might be read as "Skopteland", a farm in Konsmo parish. Did not find an Ole Simonsen b ca 1829, parish records but perhaps the age is not right.

I have studied the parish out-migration records for Konsmo and tried to see how many went to America, and even settled in the same area. Gulov (#49)
later in 1854 brings with him a large group of relatives and friends
from Konsmo, as many as 45 possibly. At least that many leave about the
same time. Gulov stays in Menard County, Illinois until 1856 when his
family and 6 other families move to Fillmore County, Minnesota. Gulov
dies there within a year or two, and his wife re-marries. The family
spreads out to Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, and some even to
Saskatchewan, Canada, where I reside.
