NancyCThe man listed as passenger #15, Thrond Busengrind, was christened Tron, son of tenant farmer Jacob Tronsen and Anne Eriksdatter Hurumeiet. This is documented in the church book for Hole Church in Ringerike, vol. I -4 (1814-1833), p. 10, nr. 62. He was born 10 May 1815 and christened 18 June 1815 at Hole Church. The farm name "Busengrind" has been misinterpreted. It is spelled Buringrud, and the farm from which this name comes is located in the Province of Buskerud: Gnr (farm number) 74, bnr (household number) 4, and the farm is located near Ask Station. Tron immigrated with his wife and 6 children. They are listed as #16, John Thronsen (age 7), and #101-104. Tron's wife, Henrikke (Henricha) Henriksdatter; was born according to church book 8 (1814-1833) for Norderhov Church, p. 141, nr. 98, 2 August 1817 and christened 7 september 1817 in Norderhov Church. Her parents were Henrich Engebretsen Bjørnerud (deceased) and Mari Hansdatter. When they immigrated in 1840 on the Christiane, the family consisted of Anne Marie (age 9), John (age 7), Marthe (age 5), Karen (age 2) and Inger (2 months). Inger is not listed among the passengers, and the ages for Marthe (Martha Thronsdatter, listed as 11 years old) and Karen (listed as 6 years) are incorrect. The well known Norwegian-American historian, Gerhard Naeseth, has also documented that this family was on the Christiane for this journey: "Thron Jacobson Buringrud, Henrikke Henriksdatter and children came on the 'Christiania', which landed in New York, July 16, 1850. The voyage took 44 days. There were 150 passengers in addition to a load of coal."
