#24 listed as H. Michelet should be J. P. Michelet They also had a child Johanne Dorthea b. Feb. 1, 1851 who is not listed on the original document, but who came with them on the ship.
lbjornebyIn brackets find the more usual spelling of each name in family papers and documents. 8 Engebreckt Christenson 53 m [Embret, Engebret] 9 Ragnild Christenson 45 f [Ragnhild] 10 Christen Engebrecktson* 22 m [Christian] 11 Karin Engebrecktsdatter* 19 f [Karen] 12 Gumari Engebrecktsdatter* 17 f [Gunerius or Gunnerus] 13 Guro Engebrecktsdatter* [Goro] The family (place) name on emigration was Björnebÿequærn. In the United States it was shortened to Bjorneby. Emigration documents, as well as a citizenship paper, civil war documents and photos are online at my web site. Also note that, contrary to the list, Gunerius was male. The mistake, as the scan shows, was made on the original passenger list. Also, the "Barbra" on the list who seems to be a member of the family was not.
jwbittnerMy cousin Ladd Bjorneby has done something that has needed to be done -- he has fixed the data on the passenger list of the Incognito for the family from the Bjornebyqvern farm in Asnes, Hedmark. Kudos to him! I might add that #17 on the list, Christoffer Anderson, age 27, seems to be my great-grandfather, from Hedalen, Sor-Aurdal, Oppland. Legends in my family say that Christopher met Karin Engebrecktsdatter (#11 on the list) during the eight-month Atlantic crossing, fell in love, and then married her in the USA. Their descendants in the USA use the name Jorandby, from the Joranbyhuset farm near Hedalen. Karen's brother Gunnerius (#12 on the list) married Christopher's sister Olea Andersdatter Joranbyhuset in the USA. Olea emigrated in 1857, along with over two dozen folks from the Joranby farms near Hedalen.
