Rhondaresearching family - left Trondheim in late 1890's for Australia GGM Matilda Hendrickson (?) GGF Gustave Johansen
HopkinsThe database of emigrants from the port of Trondheim contains at least 127 persons with names starting Gus.... and Jo....... Without some indication of the age and marital status of the Gustav that you were seeking that means paging through each and every separate entry. (Including such basic identifying information is always a good ideas when asking for assistance) Leaving from Trondheim in 1900 a married couple with two young children - http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=EMITROND&gardpostnr=89633&sokefelt=skjul
RhondaThank you, this is a starting point, I know my GM and GAunt were born in Trondhjem thier names were Anna and Helga Johansen and they came with their parents, Gustave and Matilda - ages would have been around 4 and 2 My sister believes the ship they left on was the Tasso to England and then another to Australia , did the Tasso cruise directly to Australia ?? By my calculations, GM was born in 1899, so I am thinking they sailed in late 1900 - 1901 - where to now....
Jo Anne SadlerThe Tasso was a feeder ship that operated between Trondheim and Hull. It would not have gone to Austrailia. There is a picture and information about the Tasso on this site.
