Hanson/Hansen
alhanson	Hi! Since my last posting (02/04/2005), I have had a big breakthrough! I now know that my g-grandfather Harald Edmund Hanson was born in Mandal, Norway. He married Gerhardine Alvilda Jensine Hansen from Rudkobing, Denmark (daughter of Hans Hansen born Sept 28, 1823 in Svenborg, Denmark). They were married in Ontario in 1884. An older brother -- Hjalmar Carl Hansen was also born in Mandal, Norway on Feb 10, 1850. Does anyone have any information abour Mandal, Norway? I also will want to learn more about where my g-grandmother came from, but I don't know if that's another list.

hasto	Harald Edmund Hansen was born 1859 on Skoie farm in Holum parish close to Mandal. He is listed on page 672 in Holum bygdebok (farm history book) as son of Hans Salvesen Skoie (1809-1863) and Inger Marie Markusdatter Ro, b. 1815. The book says Harald died in Canada. I am corresponding with an American who is descendant of his brother Martin. Hjalmar Carl I think was not a brother.
