irenes	Looking for information on ancestors or descendants of Sten PEDERSEN JULE LINNES and/ or Beret ROLANDSDATTER SANDVIK AUNET. Their son (my grandfather) Robert STEVENS was born on 20 Oct 1892 in Namsos, Soili County, Norway,was christened on 15 Nov 1892. Robert had numerous half siblings as both parents had a second family. Sten Pedersen Jule Linnes b. 13 okt 1866, Oppgården, Jule, and Beret Rolandsdatter Sandvik Aunet, b. 1 jun 1868, Stortangen, Sandvik, (daughter of Roland Mortensen Sandvik and Kristina Arntsdatter Ness) m. 12 okt 1895, in Sørli kirke, Kari Einarsdatter Ness, b. 27 nov 1867, Ness Søndre, (daughter of Einar Olsen Ness and Kersti Tomasdatter Inderdal) d. 12 jan 1940, Linnes Vestre, Østborg, buried 18 jan 1940, Sørli kirke. Sten died 26 jan 1940, Linnes Vestre, Østborg, buried 3 feb 1940, Sørli kirke. Beret married Karl ISAKSSON (son of Isak HANSSON and Johanna Charlotta BERGLUND) on 12 Mar 1904 in Sweden. Beret died on 27 Jan 1918.

Hopkins	Perhaps it will be of assistance just to try to understand the locations that were intended. Beret Rolandsdtr and Robert Stensen (later Stevens?) are both living in Sørli parish at the time of the 1900 census - Sørli parish has been part of the larger clerical district names of Lierne and Snåsa in Nord-Trøndelag. That census lists birthplaces for both of them as Lierne. That census lists Beret Rolandsdtr as unmarried and lists Robert Stensen as a foster child in that household. http://www.rhd.uit.no/folketellinger/ftliste_e.aspx?ft=1900&knr=1737&kenr=004&bnr=0049&lnr=00 The 1900 census also lists Sten Pedersen as married to another - http://www.rhd.uit.no/folketellinger/ftliste_e.aspx?ft=1900&knr=1737&kenr=005&bnr=0016&lnr=00 You could look for the published history/genealogy books for the Lierne area -- "Lierne 100 år, 1873-1873" by Odd Aagård. "Bygdebok for Lierne kommune", 3? volumes by Karl Audun Fagerli and Ola Hjulstad. Parish records as early as 1733 have been copied to LDS microfilm for Sørli parish - if Sten Pedersen and Beret Rolandsdtr had more than one child together - you would expect that to be listed in the birth/baptismal records for Sørli.
Hopkins	Robert Stensen had resided on a farm called Aune or Aunet (in Lierne, Nord-Trøndelag) before he emigrated from Norway in 1911 on a ship by the name of Zero. irenes	Thanks for all the information. This is definately my granfather who came to Alberta. I have one problem with the web page, I do not know Norwegian & would appreciate it if someone could translate the headings for me. Also on the web page http://www.norwayheritage.com/p_ship.asp?sh=zeroa which lists the sailings of the ship Zero it does not show a trip in 1911 - could it be the 1912 sailing? Once again thank you for all of the information.
