birth certificates & other info
chels1411	ok, my great grandfather was born Magnus Einorson Rongved in 1895 in Haus, Norway. He had one sister, name unknown. Also unknown are his parents names. He immigrated to the US in 1915. I would like to further trace my family but need the information. Is there a way to get birth certificates from Haus? was there a norway census like in the US? Any help or info provided would be greatly apperciated.

Hopkins	Chelsea - Your question seems very odd. Are you forgetting all the previous links to those same Norwegian censuses and emigration records that others were giving to you in the past few days? chels1411	MAS, thank you for your help...I knew of that site but not being able to read the language, it was obviously hard for me to understand. I couldn't even figure out how to locate someone. AsHopkins states I did have a link previously the Norwegian Historical Data Center but again...HOPKINS...not knowing the language makes things VERY hard to understand. To me it was a bunch of names. Especially when you don't understand certian abreaviations and words. Thanks again MAS!

Just a little more to the 1900 census: There are two more children,Brita born 1877 and Ole born 1873.I guess Einar has been married before and that they are children from his first marriage.(Ole is one year younger than Einar's wife Ingeborg.) chels1411	I noticed those 2 children as well...I had concluded the same thing you had about being married proir to Ingaborg. This I didn't know however, my family tells stories (of how much truth is unknown) that the reason Magnus moved to the US was because Einar remarried after Ingaborg died and the farm would have gone to the 3rd wifes kids. I don't know how true that is however, maybe it was because the farm would have gone to the 1st wifes kids. Are their census in Norway back to 1870ish? I so wish I understood the language HA HA! MAS	Yes,there are census 1875,but few of them on the internett,and of course not for Haus. I found dead in Haus 1878-1946.I suppose Einar's first wife is listed there,but we don't know her name,do we?I can't find Ingeborg there either,but I found Einar. chels1411	Well, that would be my family, that was the date he died so that him. Unfortunatly, i don't know the 1st wifes name. My great grandpa didn't talk about Norway or his family there much. Now that I've gotten into this, i wish he would have.
