Call for Norway-Heritage Donations
AdminDear friends It is soon time for the renewal of the web-hotel where this web-site is hosted. With only 3 donations so far this year it will be a heavy load on Trond and Børge to support the continuation of the site. It is possible that we will have to remove parts of the site to go for a smaller web-hotel (probably the image gallery as a start, as it takes much space). If any of you would like to help, it is still not too late, please consider making a small donation if you find the site useful. You can make a donation with a credit card through PayPal by going to this page: Make a donation or send an e-mail to the webmaster@norwayheritage.com for other arrangements. Thanks for your consideration [:)]
carrajEveryone posting a question on this forum must realize what an incredible asset this site and its participants are ... if we find ourselves thanking anyone for what we learn here, we need to make certain that the site continues by clicking the "support this site" button, and making a contribution. Everyone taking responsibility for doing their share will ensure that this wonderful resource is preserved!
Jo Anne SadlerI totally agree. People complain about the "paid" sites but how do they think the expenses (and work) get done? No advertising, no pop-ups, no hidden agenda on Norway Heritage. If every poster donated something, transcribed a passenger list, contributed to the site, there would be no need for appeals for support.
maryemcfaddenI stumbled onto this site in late April and have found it to be one of the best on the Internet. I NEVER participated in a forum before and am stunned at the willingness of knowledgeable people to share their expertise. For the past several weeks, I have been struggling to "connect the dots" with regard to all the leads provided in this forum and have been reading all of the recommended reference material in an effort to continue my reseach, which has come so far in just a short time . Bottom line: I only wish my donation could be more reflective of just how much I value the efforts others have made on my behalf. Thanks to all involved with this project!
carrajIf you have received assistance on this wonderful site in researching your Norwegian ancestors, there is a perfect way to honor your ancestors by name, say "Thank You" to everyone who gave their own time to help you, and to make certain that this site continues for the future!! Just click on the "Support This Forum" button, enter your contribution, and then write a short note in the "Notes" field to let NorwayHeritage know you'd like your contribution listed "In Memoriam" and the name. QUICK, EASY, and a great way to make certain that this valuable resource is maintained!!
BorgeHi all I just want to drop a quick line to say thank you to all of those who responded to our call for Norway-Heritage Donations. We sincerely appreciate the donations that you all made in order to secure the continuation of the website. Even if the first few months of 2005 did not look very promising, we have now already received more donations than in all of 2004. Thanks to the generosity of those listed on the Sponsor Page and some others who did not want their name listed, the economy of the project is now quite comfortable. I also want to express gratitude to all who are donating their time and knowledge by transcribing passenger lists, writing articles, helping people at the forum, and in other ways are supporting the project. THANKS! [:X]
