mastokk2Necoline(Nicoline) Olsdtr. from the farm Dragland(north of Norway) left Norway together with two of her brothers: http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=EMITROND&gardpostnr=47960&merk=47960#ovre The family history says that she left her brothers for going to be a housekeeper at a farm in St. Vincent, MN. But maybe she did`nt left the place in USA(Canada?) where the ship landed? Is it possible to find where it landed?
mastokk2I forgot to tell that after arriving ???(where they arrived) they never heard from her again, and I`m wondering if it maybe could be possible to find the answere...
Jo Anne SadlerPer your link, the ship Juno was a feeder ship to Hull, England and then on to Liverpool by railroad. The Allan Line operated routes from Liverpool to Canada. If you look on the Index of Arrivals on this site for June 1887 there are two good possibilities, the S/S Nova Scotian or the S/S Polynesian. There is information on this site about the Allan and it routes. Their destination was indicated as Emmerson, Manitoba which is a town on the US/Canadian border on the Red River which separates North Dakota and Minnesota. St. Vincent, Minnesota is on the other side of the border from Emerson. www.townofemerson.com/index3.html I know you can rent the Canada passenger lists from a local Family History Center but there is more information and I believe help on the Internet but I am not knowledgeable on this, maybe someone here has information.
mastokk2Thank you very much Jo Anne Sadler! I have tried to find information about their journey on this site, but I have`nt found yet, I guess I have to try again :-)
Jo Anne SadlerIt took me awhile to find my way around this site.p] I believe this is Daniel & Michael (Mikkel) in some census': 1900 - Grand Forks, Grand Forks County, North Dakota Michael Dragland, born March 1866, Norway, immigrated 1887, meat dealer Mona, wife, 28, immigrated 1878, four children, three living Oscar-6, Alma P. - born born in North Dakota 1910 Mike Dragland - Grand Forks, Mike, meat dealer, born Norway Mona, wife born Norway Oscar - 16, Alma - 15, Rudolph - 10, Theodore -, Alice - 4, Orrin - 1 1/2. All children born in North Dakota except Theodore who was born in Minnesota. Grand Forks is a twin city intersected by the Red River and separates Grand Forks, ND from East Grand Forks, Minnesota (I have been here). Can't find them after 1910 but the names on census' are so mixed up so it makes it difficult. 1900-Westfield, Steele County, North Dakota Daniel B. (hard to read) Olson, born August 1861, Norway, immigrated 1887, farmer Anna, 38, born Norway, 7 children, 6 living, immigrated 1890 Signe K. - 12, born Norway, immigrated 1890 Edwin - 7, Ole N. - 6, Mary G. - 4, Esther N. (hard to read), Rudolph - born in May. Other than Signe all children born in North Dakota. 1920 - still in Westfield Daniel, immigrated 1887, naturalized 1892, grain farmer Anna, born Norway Ole - 25, Victor - 14, Berger R. - 19, Rudolph Hankass, son - 26 1930 - still in Westfield Daniel 68, Anna - 67 Rudolph 29, age at first marriage 25 Ella, 25, wife, born North Dakota, age at first marriage-20 Laury, daughter, 1 6/12 born North Dakota 1930 is the last census available.

There is a lot of info. about others in the family(search for Dragland at Google, and you will find different info), but she is a mystery. From persons at Digitalarkivet(Norway) I have got the advice to look in her brothers obits, I did`nt believe the answere will be there, but I have order these. Thanks again!!
