Elsewhere, this Nels C. Vig and wife Louisa with their two children settled at Avalanche, Vernon Co., WI, where eight more children were born. Two of their children, twins, passed away as toddlers. The dau., "Tally" who was with them aboard the Atalanta, died of pneumonia in 1891 at Chicago. Of the remaining children there were three sons: Ole, Peter, and Edward; and four daus.: Ellen (Enochson/Rusdal), Christina (Nelson/Knudson), Nellie (Mullen), and Emma (Froiland). Some of the descendant families still live in the general area were Nels and Louisa settled |
