Looking for relatives from the Stjørdal area.
ShaftsburyHi, I'm looking for any relatives that may be living in the Stjørdal or other areas of Norway. I don't believe that there has been any contact between my North American relatives and Norwegian ones in a good number of years. Here is my ancestory as I have uncovered so far: 1 Per/Peder Larsen Floan b: 1700 d: 1766/1788 + Kirsti Pedersdatter 2 Per/Peder Persen/Pedersen Mæhre b: 1744 d: 1801 + Gjertrud Persdatter Rykkja/Rokke b: 1744 d: 1785 3 Per/Peder Persen/Pedersen Mæhre b: 1770 d: 1815 + Beret Olasdatter Stuberg b: 1771-1773 d: 1863 4 Gjertrud Persdatter Mæhre b: 1803 d: 1855 + Arnt Torsteinsen Heggjastroa b: 1803 d: 1855 4 Ole Persen/Pedersen Mæhre b: Abt 1813 + Karen Marta Johnsdatter Rokke b: Abt 1817 My ggrandfather Peder Olsen was born in Nedre Stjørdalen on 16 Sep 1838, he and his family emigrated to Lake Park, Minnesota between 1884 and 1888. For a larger view of that tree you can go here: Family Tree I would really like to contact any relatives still living in Norway [:)] Thanks
ShaftsburyOne final bit of information, the census of 1801 and 1865 show my ancestors living on the Mæhre, and Mæhre yttre østre, farms. After 1865 I lose track of any remaining relatives.
Jo Anne SadlerYou have covered this topic in prior postings, it would help to continue in the same thread, it is not so confusing.[:)] I would not rely on that family tree too much, it was originally posted by someone who posted it in the name of his 8 year old daughter and is solely based on the farm history books and has many errors in it. Everytime it comes up I check a few names and the same old errors are there. It has been downloaded so many times it is disheartening, my great grandparents are in it and their information is incorrect[:(].
ShaftsburyThanks Jo Anne, that's a little disappointing news but would probably explain the errors that I have found. The farm names that I have posted in this thread are taken from the census records so I would consider them correct. :)
