The White Stars
kjetilIs there pass. list from Drammen, Norway, any place at the web? 1880-82[?]
BorgeDo you mean passenger lists for ships belonging to the White Star Line?
kjetilYes, it`s that I mean, passenger list from Drammen, Norway Kjetil
BorgeNo, the ships of the White Star Line departed from England, mainly Liverpool, not from Norwegian ports. The emigrants would have to travel on a feeder ship to England. Most went by Wilson Line ships from Christiania to Hull, but there was also a route from Christiania to Newcastle via Larvik and Arendal in 1888. As far as I know there are no surviving police registers of emigrants from Drammen, but many of them are probably listed in the Christiania police registers. I should also mention that the records of the general agent of the White Star Line in Norway have survived in the Norwegian National Archive, but is as far as I know not filmed. The White Star Line ships filed a copy of their passenger list with the customs at New York upon arrival: Records of the U.S. Customs Service, (1820 - ca. 1891), archived by NARA.
