medic12965 | On notes of my ancestors I have come across a phrase which I would like clarified. Here is an example of it for one couple: Aslak Midtbo and Gunnhild Sigurdstaul; Marriage: 1874, They came to on Hatveit Does the phrase "They came to on Hatveit" mean that is where they were married??? Thanks in advance, Ryan |
Hopkins | What was the source of this phrase? It sounds like a one word at a time translation from another language - without the proper grammar. Check the parish records for the engagement/marriage in 1874+- that will probably record where each was living. My first assumption would have been that it meant - they married in 1874 and came to Hatveit. |
