There was an Ole Olsen on a Smedhaugen farm in Aurland, Sogn og Fjordane and an Ole Olsen on Smehagan farm in Ullensaker at the time of the 1865 census. In the 1875 census three other areas appear likely, and in the 1900 Norwegian census one appears in Sondre Land, Oppland.
