Passengers on State of Georgia from Glasgow
lennevenI am searching for two passengers leaving Norway May 12 1882 on the ship Angelo to Hull . They probably left Glasgow on the ship "State of Georgia" who arrived New York May 24 1882. They wrote on papers in Norway that they should go to Neenah.Later we have been told that this probably is in Wisconsin. I have never found out if those two relatives ever came to New York. Can someone help me with a hint to find a passenger list or a record that can show if they really came to Neenah,Wi. The names of my relatives are: Severin Johansen, born in Stange in Norway in 1862 Oline Simonsen, born in Stange,Norway 1830
joallanbThere is Oline Simonsen arriving at Ellis Island in 1898 at this link:Oline But she is listed as aged 32 and last residence Risar (Risør) Might be to far away from what you are looking for....
HopkinsIn Clark County (town of Unity), Wisconsin, 1900 there appears a man called Severin Johnson, 38 years old, born Dec 1862 in Norway and immigrated to US in 1882. He is a farmer, married and with 5 children he has named Olga, Harold, Sigward, Anna and Julia. I don't know how close Clark County might be to Neenah in Winnebago County Wisconsin. Of course Severin could have moved several times in the 18 years between 1882 and 1900. We would usually expect such moves to probably be toward the west... 1920 US census shows the same man as Severin M. Johnson, 57 years old and still lists immigration year as 1882.

lennevenTo Hopkins You have found the right person in Wisconsin. But I am still looking for his mother,Oline Simonsen,or written Oliva Simansen. She emigrated with her son Severin Johansen from Norway in 1882. I know that Severin married in Milwaukee in 1889,an that he moved to Neenah,Wisconsin before settling in Clark County,Wisconsin. Oline was born in Stange,Hedmark, Norway 1830.
