HopkinsThe area is Nord Fron in Oppland, Norway. Nord Fron is one of the parish/clerical areas within the Gudbrandsdal valley region. You will be able to search for availability of Nord Fron records (LDS Family History Library is excellent repository with great availability in the US) if you spell it in that way. I couldn't find any Slettens in the county for Grygla, Minnesota in US census indexes - I was hoping to see what year Ole and Mari listed for their immigration to this country and a birthyear for Ole. Have you found them in those US censuses? When did they emigrate/immigrate? Was the family listed with a different surname in the censuses?
LynellOle Sletten was born on December 28,1862 in Stavanger, Norway. He left home at the age of thirteen. His Mother had died and his father remarried. He had one brother he never saw again. His father was a building contractor. He also had a half sister in Canada named Mrs. Harold Haugen That is about all I know.

Jo Anne SadlerIn Julius' WWI draft registration, it states he was born in Langford, SD on on April 28, 1897, and his father's place of birth was Gulbrandsdalen, Norway. He had red hair.[:0] The Nord Fron church records have been microfilmed and are available for rental at a local Family History Center: click here Ole probably left from the Port of Stavanger and there is a good chance was that he was not born there.
