1885 marriage Anton Julius Evenson to Olava Tronds
WagseyMy grandparents, Anton Evenson b. 7/24/1861 and Olava Trondsen b.10/ 1858 emigrated from Norway to Boston Nov. 1887, SS Catalonia. I have traced Olava's family to Skedsmo but have conflicting information on Anton. His death certificate reads his father is Even Eriksen. I thought a marriage record would give me more information. 1890 US census reads they have been married 15 years. I have ships lists, citizenship papers, death certificates etc. All say only "Norway" for place of birth. Anton was in the military before emigrating. Their first born, Einar, my father, should have been named after his grandfather, if I have the patronymic naming system correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
WagseyError in my post. US Census 1900.

WagseyKaare n Thanks for the reply to my post. I have actually seen this census listing and 2 0r 3 other possibilities. I think the marriage is the connection I need to the correct Anton Julius. I do apreciate the time you took to look this up for me. Isabel
HopkinsIf in the 1900 US census they list that they immigrated in 1887 and have been married for 15 years - then they married about 2 years before they left Norway. The marriage record may be in the church records of Skedsmo (the bride's home parish). Have you checked in those?
