| jwiborg | Sunday 13th of August 1905 was like a National day here in Norway.
The polling stations (which many places was the schools), was decorated with norwegian flags and leaves. Bands were playing, and the National anthem was of course being played.
Reason: 13th of August 1905 was the first Election Day about the Union with Sweden..., should the Norwegian-Swedish Union be cancelled or not?
368 208 men voted for a break up of the Union, only 184 (!) men voted against it.... [:)]
Such postcards have been sold for $20 - $30 at certain auctions.
