Information on Solem |
mirleehud | I am new to this kind of research, I am looking for anyone with any information about Torkel E. Solem, from Pierce county, North Dakota. He was born in 1862. I am looking for his wifes name, anything really. Thanks! |
Hopkins | The 1910 US census for Pierce Co. ND her name appears to end with the letters ...bara and she is listed as having been born in Minnesota to Norway born parents.
On the 1920 US census her name clearly appears as Barbara.
Those census enumerations would be very good starting points for you to collect at least basic information about names, approximate dates, etc. |

Hopkins | Torkel E. Solum's large family appears in Grant County Minnesota in 1900. He lists himself as born April 1862 and immigrated to US in 1883. |
jwiborg | Looks like he was on a visit back home in 1888:
13-Apr-1888 Torkil E. Solem (26) from Nęs/Hall, Amerika.

Borge | From the Digtalarkivet link I see the name of the agent was "Gjemre". He represented the American Line and we have a comfirmed connection for the S/S Rollo 1883-04-27 departure:
S/S British Crown of the American Line departing from Liverpool and arriving at Philadelphia 1883-05-13 |
