Family from Ringsaker to America - 1873
furstsSearching for information on Eline Johnson Flotlien, b. 05 Jul 1863 in Ringsaker, Norway. She emigrated with her family in 1873 and arrived to Iowa and then four years later moved to Minnesota. Her father's name was Lars. Children to Eline were: Martin, Alma, Pauline, Lottie, Edwin, Elmer, Oscar, Edward, Arnold, and Alvin. I know more about her in the U.S. but cannot find the information on her parents or her Norwegian roots. Please help! Thanks.
HopkinsAn Eline Larsdatter of the right age in Ringsaker 1865 census - http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=f60412&gardpostnr=458&sokefelt=skjul
furstsI do have a note that her surname was Johnson or Jenson and that she had two older brothers - so this is a BIG CLUE! What does the Flotlien mean? I know there is a place near Ringsaker named Flotlien - would they have lived near there? If Lars was born around 1840 - did he live near Flotlien? Thanks for any help - you are SO APPRECIATED!
furstsI just found Lars Jenson, Pernille, Eline, John (Johan), and 14 year old Andrew in the 1880 Census - it is for sure the Eline that I was searching for! WHOOOHOOO! They are living 2 farms away from Eline's future husband! Thanks! No wonder I could not find them - using Flotlien and Johnson.
HopkinsThere does appear to be a farm named "Fløtlien" in Ringsaker at the time of the 1865 Norwegian census. When you start your more in-depth research into the family history in Ringsaker records - you may learn what the family connection to that farm might have been. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~norway/articles.html
