| hughesdriver | I acknowledge the replies of Borge,Hopkins and Ann Sadler. By the way Hopkins I cannot get any details at all about the Leith Seamans Mission.
Further to my previous posts I can offer the following information.
Ole Nicholson was born 1854 somewhere in Norway. His parents were Nicholas Nicalson ( note differant spelling ) and Olana Olson.
I cannot use the Bygdebok as I do not know in what area he was born.
As far as Im aware there is no Farm Name.
If I use the patroymic theory does that mean he is the son of Nical? Would his mother Olana be Olanadatter ?
Also after visiting the LDS site I cannot find a Norway section.
I think I have done all I can on my part, Ive read the web page of John Forresdal which was very informative but still to no avail. .Any advice from anyone where to go from here?? Bill |
