Information about Bernt Olsen (Dille)
valeriedetling	My brother is planning a trip to Norway in early June and wants as much information as possible about our ancestor Bernt Olsen (Dille) who was born Nov. 18, 1839 and died September 15, 1911. We think he was married to Marit T Glarius Olsen who was born on January 4, 1848 and died May 1, 1892. My brother particularly wants to know where in Norway Marit and Bernt were born and raised.

valeriedetling	I think they married in Norway (though I'm really not sure about that). Dille might be a nickname (it was placed on a quick family tree that my mother made). Children were: Maurius Berhard Olsen (1875-1935) who was born in La Crosse. Wisconsin and Oscar Olsen, Bernhard M Olsen, Minnie Sinelser, Lydia Echart, and Hulda Bellin. I'm really not sure when they immigrated - some time before 1875.)

Notes: Wife previously married. Her birth says 1796 Vangen, Roros, Sor Trondelag, Norway. Death: 27 DEC 1839. So she died 1 month after giving birth to Bernt.

However, there are still some people named Dille in the city, according to the local [url="http://www.gulesider.no/gsi/whiteSearch.do?spraak=3&mode=&linje=1&etter=dille+r%F8ros&x=32&y=10&drill=&sort=2"]white pages[/url] Marit's home farm is today called Glærem, and is located close to the township Surnadalsøra in Surnadal, Møre & Romsdal county. Ole Abrahamsen Dille on the Haugene farm in Røros in census 1865.
