Pinderud/Pinderød Farm & Name
lroarkOliver Pinderud came to U.S. in 1880 with his family. I don't know his patronymic name or anything about the Pinderød Farm north of Oslo where I assume he took his name. Can anyone tell me where to get this information? Is there another farm by that name? No luck on the Ship's List or Ellis Island site. Is there a "farm book" available? Any help is appreciated.
askeroiIn the 1865 cencus there were 45 farms called Pinderud, all in Vang in Hedemark. Unfortunately there's no Oliver on any of them. The closest is an Ole Johannessen born abt. 1851. I'm not familiar with the area, but if you go to the Digitalarkivet site and start a Brukerforum/User forum debate on the subject I'm sure somebody else can tell you if there is a "bygdebok" (a farm book for all farms in the area) or not. I asume there is... http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/ askeroi

lroarkThis is my first posting so hope you forgive the reply with no message. I wanted to thank you for responding to my query. I'll go to the site now and see what I can find. The only one until now has been given me by a kind person near Oslo. Is there a map site that might show the different jurisdictions of Norway? I am just beginning here and am learning the hard way. Thanks for your patience.
askeroiYou've probably allready found out, but if not: There is a map-on-web at the same site... askeroi
