Vanadis
spamjam	When the 1881 UK census was being conducted my g'g'granfather gave his address as the Vesel: Vandis. He and 15 other men were aboard the Vanadis that day/night/ Could this be the Norwegian bark Vanadis in for a refit or did it run aground in ther Thames esturay? James Birch Adelaide Australia.
eburro	My g, g, grandfather also served on a Swedish naval ship by the name of Vanadis during the same period. It may well have been the same vessel, since Norway had not yet separated from Sweden, at that time. If you learn anything else about that ship, please contact me. I have a very old oil painting of the Swedish naval ship.
