ship named "the Quick"
SonjaI am looking for any information on a clipper ship named The Quick. I beleive that it sailed out of Bergen, Norway destined for Nova Scotia. (unknown year) It was captured off the coast of the Carolinas and the crew was held in a prisoner of war camp for some time. After the ship and crew were released, it sailed to Canada and then back to Norway. If anyone has heard of this ship or has any information to share, it would be greatly appreciated!
BorgeHello Sonja Do you have a time frame for us? Was it during WW1, WW2 or much earlier? Børge Solem
SonjaHi Borge, i would estimate the time frame to be around 1880. I know the ship was captured off the coast of the Carolinas. Possibly during the Spanish-American war? My great grandfather was on this ship..possibly as a stowaway ..and then was taken on as an apprentice to the ships carpenter.. My family and i have looked for years for information on this ship..any information you could help me with will be greatly appreciated!!!! thank you!!
BorgeTrond might know something about the ship, we will know when he gets back from vacation Børge Solem
