S S Scandinavian II
Jackson1My Mother was born on this ship and I have all her landing papers which I'm in the process of framing and preserving. She was actually named after he ship and the captain's name - " Hamilton." I'm looking for a picture of the S.S. Scandinavian II suitable for framing with her other papers - all of which will be in a large frame 36X30. Does anyone know where I can get a good picture of the ship even if its just a postcard? The Scandinavian was built 1898 at Harland & Wolff in Belfast as the S/S New England, for the Dominion Line. In January 1912 she was acquired by the Allan Line, and was renamed "Scandinavian". The Scandinavian was set in on the Glasgow - Quebec - Montreal service. 1917 taken over by Canadian Pacific.
BorgeHi Jackson1 I have an old color postcard which I can make an enlarged copy of. It is the same card as the one you find a scan of on our S/S Scandinavian page on this site. I do have some experience with copying and will not recommend a format much larger that about 10.2x6.4 in., as the quality of the picture reduces to much. Contact me off the forum if you are interested. Børge Solem
