Wold voyage to America
alanmasonI'm trying to find information about my great-grandparents trip from Norway to the US. They left Trondheim on July 20, 1887 on the SS Juno bound for Hull, England, which fed to LIverpool, England. I don't know what ship them came over on from England. The father is Simon Amundson Wold (Vold, traveling with his family. On the Juno manifest their destination was listed as jackson, MN. Registration of emigration on record in Norway: Simon A. Wold, 42 years old Anna, wife, 40 years old Hans Christian Hansen Wold, 14 Johan Simonssen Wold, 11 years old Alfred Simonssen Wold 10 years old Amund Simonssen Wold, 7 years old Sofie Wold, 4 years old True name Sadie Sophie) Else Wold 3 years old (True name Elise) Charlotte Wold, 1 year old (True name Karolotte. Died during voyage from England to US.) Any information would be helpful. Thank you. Alan Mason
BorgeAccording to the emigration records they were traveling from England on a ship belonging to the Allan Line. We have some possible ships in our arrivals db: The S/S Circassian of the Allan Line arrived to Quebec August 1st 1887 (this one might be a little early!) The S/S Sardinian of the Allan Line arrived to Quebec on August 8th 1887 The S/S Polynesian of the Allan Line arrived to Quebec on August 15th 1887. However, this db is not complete so you should know that the Allan Line operated the following routes to North American ports in 1887: Glasgow - Boston - New York Glasgow - Philadelphia Glasgow - Portland - New York Glasgow - St Johns - Quebec - Montreal Liverpool - Quebec - Montreal Liverpool - Queenstown - Halifax - Norfolk - Baltimore London - New York Børge Solem
