Immigration information & passenger lists
tutuRichard Tillotson and family from Yorkshire to Canada in 1904. I have the name of their ship that sailed from Liverpool to Halifax, Canada in March of 1904. The ship is S/S Canada - Dominion Line. Richard Tillotson December 3 1869 - Yorkshire England. Alice Fletcher October 12 1865 - Yorkshire England. They sailed in March with 5 of their children [ one was only months old]. Their final destination was near Broadview, Saskatchewan. I am interested in seeing their immigration information and the names on the passenger lists. Edited by - tutu on 09/06/2002 19:44:02 Edited by - tutu on 09/06/2002 19:44:43
Borgetutu I see that you are situated in Canada. The Dominion Line ships microfilmed. All Canadian microfilm reels are available by Inter Library Loan [ILL]. The Latter Day Saints [LDS] Family History Centers [FHC], have copies of the earliest Canadian arrivals. If you already know the ship name and arrival date, you are also able to request photocopies of the passenger list from the NAC. You will find details of how to submit a request, by mail, email or by Fax by going to the [url="http://www.archives.ca/02/020206_e.html"]NAC web site[/url]. The film you should be checking for a start is: T-482, 1903 July 31, 1904 June 11 Børge Solem
SueSmall correction Børge. tutu said it was a Halifax arrival. I see a March departure, and also a March arrival, on different microfilms. T-497 CANADA Liverpool, England 1904-02-26 Halifax, N.S. 1904-03-04 List Number: 166 T-498 CANADA Liverpool, England 1904-03-31 Halifax, N.S. 1904-04-09 List Number: 196 The LDS only have Canadian arrivals up to 1899, so tutu will have to order the film by ILL from Ottawa as you suggest. As you are aware that they are located in Canada, then some Canadian institutions have copies of the films too, maybe close to where tutu lives. http://www.archives.ca/02/020202/0202020401_e.html#hold Sue
