| Barbara J. Woodford | Thanks for your help Nina and Borge. On looking at the census though, I have a question perhaps you can answer.
Johan Myhre is listed as Husfader, as is Christopher Myre. I take it that Husfader means head of the household. Is perhaps Johan the oldest son of Christopher?

It is true there is not much to go on.
I am looking for a wife and children of C Myhre, ship's captain, one son named John or Peter Johnsen who emigrated to Chicago. John or Peter had a son in 1883, named Henry, my grandfather, and a daughter a little later in Chicago.
I am having a hard time in the Chicago records since I don't know the first name of my great grandfather; my father thought his wife was Lena Bjorstead.
The Myhre comes from a story passed down that the great great grandfather was a ship's captain by the name of "MEYER", who changed his name to "Johnsen". This causes a great irony since my Swedish great grandfather chose "Siljestrom" over his patronymic "Johnson".
And to make it even more fun, I am looking for grandfather's cousins, since one of them was a female Wing Walker in the 1920's, and I'd like to know what relation she had to the family.
