Stavanger Recreated Emigration Records
b-erlandWould like to know where to look for the Stavanger recreated emigration records. My gg grandfather, Sigve Erland of the Erland farm in Skjold, left somewhere around 1859-61 and is suppose to be listed in those records from an article in the Aftenposten. His father was Sigved Torgeirsson. Sigve moved to Benton Co. Iowa after he fought in the Civil War. I would appreciate an information you could give me. Thanks, Brian Erland be_generation@yahoo.com
BorgeHi Brian You will find those records at the Digitalarkivet: Emigrants fra Stavanger 1825-1970. Børge Solem
b-erlandThanks for showing the site. Don't believe it is him. Shows the date of the publication to be 20 years after he emigrated. Thanks again...Brian
MLarson101This is another terrific site! My first search turned up my husband's grandfather and the exact year of his immigration and more importantly to me, the fact that he came alone. Does anyone know what the letters F S EF mean in the designation box on the far right side of the screen?
MLarson101Me again! The designation is "Family Relation" and the letter next to the man I was searching is R but have no idea what it means.
