Passengers 1844
alice rudoMy grandmother told me that her mother who came over on the Washington, 1844, told her that the Irish women and Norwegian women didn't get along on the voyage - they threw boiling water on each other and the Capt. had to draw a line with a rope and insist each stay on her side of it. That was very shocking for a little girl to hear - was her grandnother wrong? Now - I don't see any passengers whose residence was Ireland -
BorgeThere is nothing to indicate that there were any Irish emigrants traveling on the Washington from Porsgrunn in 1844. Børge Solem
