Fru Ruud (Rudd?)
gaelgAm seeking information information re Fru ____ Ruud who I believe accompanied my grandmother, Gudrun Nustad, to America from Oslo on 12/3/25. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
BriningHere is Gudrun on the emigrant list at the Digitalarkivet http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=arkivverket/EMIOSLO&variabel=0&postnr=225104&fulle=true&spraak=e I didn't see any Ruud's on the ship with Gudrun. Was Fru___ male or female? Any approximate age. If he/she was born before 1900 you might be able to find them on the 1900 census at the Digitalarkivet. The person listed above Gudrun was a single female also going to New York so might be a possibility. Carla
thelebrityfru means missis. Som mrs. Ruud would have been a female. Per Helge Seglsten
thelebrityOne Bertine Ruud traveled on the same ship as your grandnother. You'll find her here: http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=arkivverket/EMIOSLO&variabel=0&postnr=224979&fulle=true&spraak=e By trhe way: The ship left Oslo the 4. of december. Your grandmother bought the ticket on the third. Bertine bought her ticket on november 23. So they might have met on the ship. Bertine was a widow, with some money. And intended to return to Norway, as she states she was only going on a visit to New York. Further help on her whereabouts in Oslo I guess you will be able to get at Oslo Byarkiv (the town archives) and the censuses/adress books of Vestre Aker/Oslo. Tåsen, where Bertine recided, was part of Vestre Aker, but is now included in Oslo. Per Helge Seglsten
