passenger lists from 1850
eric k	i'm looking for the ship my family migrated to the usa in 1850 . i'm guessing the drafna but ? ole & birgit engen myli lived near nes. the childrens names are herbrandson or abram, knut, aase, christen, ingeborg, levord or levi, and ole. i'm also guessing they left from drammen. i read that they used the name gjetsund or geitsund, the name of the town they stayed in for the trip but that might be wrong. they took the name knudson when they homestead in brodhead wis. any help would be great. reply to estotle1@yahoo.com thanks [url][/url] Edited by - eric k on 12/09/2002 06:37:30 Edited by - eric k on 17/10/2002 23:07:18

Brining	Hi Eric Well Truls is on the Drafna http://www.norwayheritage.com/p_list.asp?jo=464 He is number 125 but I don't see any of your family but someone might be there with a variation of spelling. Ole's children would have the patronymic (last name) Olsen/Ollsen. Carla
Brining	Hi Eric I don't know if you have found them in the 1801 census but here is [url="http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=arkivverket/ft1801/f10616&postnr=1570&spraak=e"]Birgit[/url] There are 4 Ole Knudsen in the Nęss, Buskerud 1801 census that could be yours but no way of telling which one is correct or if he was living in that area at the time. eric k	hi carla, i found the record of ole and family leaving their church signed april 27th 1850. ole signed out using the name ole knudsen geitsund, the last one being a town they stayed in waiting to go and it looks like birgit used herbrandsd. i've seen her name as herbrandsdatter also. i was told more names will be added to ship lists sometime soon. i'm sure something will pop up on this. thanks for the help. eric Edited by - eric k on 20/10/2002 04:15:54 Edited by - eric k on 01/12/2002 06:46:24
