1842 ships and Passenger lists
James E Heg	Børge - I salute the thorough job you people do. By chance, I came across an article in the NAHA Records, Vol XXV, "The 1842 Immigrants From Norway." I thought I had a lot of new info but you have most of it covered !! (Your italics buttons does not work.) I did find one ship, BENJAMIN MORGAN, Capt. Henry Johnson, Liverpool 17 Feb 1842, New York 22 April 1842 (An excellent wintertime passage!) Article states only one Norwegian amongst 145 steerage passengers - Charles Andersen, 29, Printer. However, there are passenger lists for SAMOS, HECTOR and TRITON. Regarding CLARISSA, you have the Captain as Lund. Could you check this? The article has James Lunt. This is interesting as I have an old friend and former shipmate named Lunt. His family has been seafaring out of New England since colonial days. Some were ship captains in the trans-atlantic trades. Borge	It is hard to say, but from the writing on the original list it could just as well be LUNT as LUND. The first name is James. I will provide a scan in a while, I do not have my scanner connected right now, as I am in the process of moving my study. Børge Solem
