Be | I know my grandfather, Parelius Johanson left Norway on May 18 1881 on the steamship "Hero." I got that information from the Digital Archives. He used the name Paulius Johanson. He had a brother Kristian Gregor, born 1859, a sister Mathilda, born 1863, who was married to Kristian Lorentzen in 1882 in Guding, Vigten, Næro, and they both emigrated. I did not find them in the Digital Archives. I would like to know the date of departure, the ship, and arrival date. Thank you. Be |
Brining | Here is a possibility for Kristian Gregor http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=arkivverket/EMITROND&variabel=0&postnr=24612&fulle=true&spraak=e I didn't see anything on Mathilda and Kristian Lorentzen. Have you tried to find them on the 1900 US census. That will give the year they emigrated and narrow the search. Carla |
Trond | Hello Be, You can find the S/S Hero departure details at http://www.norwayheritage.com/t_corresp.asp?id=6650 Paulius Johanson used the American Line. This makes it possible he used the S/S Pennsylvania from Liverpool and arrived in Philadelphia June 5th or 6th, 1881. Trond Austheim |
