ARRIVING AT BERGEN
jcMy search is different, I'm looking for passengers ARRIVING AT BERGEN in 1914 and coming from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Could anybody help me with some comments? thank you. Juan
Janet YeagerI believe that you can check the digital archives in Norway OR there is a transmigration specialist named Debbie Beavis in England who might be able to tell you when the person you are looking for came through. There is someone on the board who has the website addresses.
BorgeHi Juan The arrivals to Norway have been discussed before here, ("returning ships") and it is not easy, as registers of passengers arriving to Norway are not available. I would like to give you advice if I can, but it would help if you could include more information about the people you are looking for, and what their purpose of going to Bergen was. It would also help if you could be more specific about what information you would like to find. Børge Solem Edited by - Borge on 07/10/2002 10:38:47
thelebrityIf you have postcards the dates on the stamps should tell when the ship was in Bergen. And then it would be possible to find out what ship he came on, and to trace the ship(s)'s route from Buenos Aires to Bergen/St. Petersburg. Per Helge Seglsten

Hi Bwrge: Thank you for your answer. The purpose of my search is only to confirm a theory about a trip that my grandfather did. He was traveling from Buenos Aires, Argentina to St Petersburg, Russia and he was in Bergen because I have some postcards that he sent from that city, his name was Juan Andreli and I don't know if he went directly to Bergen or to any other port (Amsterdam or Rotterdam for example) before Bergen. In any case he was there (in Bergen) heading to Oslo (I also have some postcards from there) and that's the last clue about his trip. Probably he went to Stocholm, Finland and finally St Petersbur were he was on November 2nd He made this trip in September/October 1914 (WW1) I hope this help you with some ideas. Thank you again Juan
