| jj | I'm looking for information on CHRISTIAN SKORSTAD and his wife, ELLEN (BROSTAD) SKORSTAD, who came to America in 1868. They had one child I know about, born in Norway. MARIE SKORSTAD. She was born near Vardahl, Christiania 7 Aug. 1865. Christian was born in 1819 and Ellen in 1821. The family settled in Pigeon Township, Wisconsin.

| thelebrity | Here the family is in the 1865 census. Vardahl is in Oppland fylke, quite a bit north of Christiania (now Oslo). As you can see Marie was the youngest of several children. Christian was born in Biri, Oppland.

| thelebrity | If Andrew was born in Norway his norwegian name would probably be Andreas. I couldn't download the data because I'm behind a fire wall (at work) that doesn't allow me to download programs. From your own pc it shouldn't be a problem. Maybe a mail to the webmaster will sort it out.
