| soloway | I am trying to locate anyone that has any information on the lerbeck name. my grandfather came to either canada or usa in 1915 from norway, his last name was Lerbeck/Lierbeck/Leirbeck. first name was lecton/Leighton. they settled in sask, canada and then moved to bc in 1935. his date of birth was sept 23/1898 and he worked on ships 1913-1915, i have post cards he recieved from namsos,namdalen,havnegaden,levaugie, all these places are from norway. also a name of arne lindgard and helen lerleck, any help at all or tips on where to search would be great. thankyou.

Leikton Eriks. on the Lerbækken farm which is where his last name came from. His birth year here is 1897 but the info on the census isn't 100 % correct and the area is right.

| thelebrity | Here is his emigrant record from Trondheim, 1914. It states that he has been visiting Fosnes since april 1913, so he has probably left Norway sometime before. Leikthon Rosinius Lerbæk.Born 1898, although it says in a census that it is 1897. His residence in Norway was Fosnes (in Nord-Trøndelag county).His father was Erik Olsen born 1854 (born at Fosnes), and his mother was Methe Rasmusdatter (born 1867 at Fosnes)
Brother: Engel Eriksen (born 1888 at Fosnes)went to newyork, usa in 1909, as Engel Meier Lerbak
Sister: Valborg Eriksdatter (born 1890 at Fosnes)
Brother: Johannes Eriksen (born 1893 at Fosnes) is there a address for the church in Fosnes, i have my grandfathers Birthday and i want to find out what year he was born and as much history as i can. my father has alzhiemers and he can no longer tell me history. thank you again. shelley

| kjetil leirbekk | This is a reply from Norway. The Leirbekk family is growing in Norway, and most of them are still living in the Namsos area in the middle of Norway. There is also a farm on a small island outside Namsos carrying the familyname Leirbekk. In Norway there has been written a book which include the Leirbekk family in Norway an USA (Canada). I am probably your second cousin an live in Oslo Norway. I hope this information could help you a litle bit. |
