A good place to start is http://www.cyndislist.com. Go to the Michigan portion of the United States section. There are lots of links. Remember the name spelling may have changed. Petter may be Peter, Pete or P, and his last name may be a little diferent.
There is a Peter E. Aspenes and wife ( Louise? Can't read the writing ) listed on the 1930 United States Federal Census in Delta County, Escanaba, District 10 in Michigan. ( Escanaba is the name of the city )They were born in Norway and Peter was 50 in 1930 and his wife was 47. They married when he was 26 and she was 24. They came to the US in 1913. He is listed as a Contractor. The listing is on http://www.ancestry.com. It is a pay site and I can't get it to link. Look in the 1930 Federal Census section for the state of Michigan. I think they may offer a trial membership period, but I'm not sure.
The State of Michigan has free information online. There is a Peter Edward Aspnes in the Naturalization section listed in Delta county. Also listed on the same line is Eleune Kristiansen. http://www.sos.state.mi.us/history/archive/naturalization/. The Naturalization papers are the best source of information. Has date and place of birth, port of entry, ship, etc. You should be able to purchase copies from the state of Michigan if this is who you are looking for.
Another place to look is http://www.familysearch.org. Try looking up Escanaba, Michigan, on google.com in addition to doing a name search. The library in Escanaba might have city directories going back to 1913, or there might be some sites relating to Escanaba that have some information that could help. I don't know if this Peter is who you are looking for, but I hope some of this helps.
