great-grandfather orphaned on ship
terry rowe	My great-grandfather's parents died on the ship as they were traveling to America in 1843. He was adopted by a family and became Lasse (Elias) Jones. I have also ran across the name Hansen. Does anyone know how to find records of passengers who died and were buried at sea? Terry Rowe guildner1@excite.com

Borge	Another good source is Gerhard B. Naeseth's book "Norwegian Immigrants To The United States, a biographical directory, 1825 - 1850, Vol. 1 1825 - 1843. Wisconsin 1993. The book gives a lot of biographical information on most of the immigrants. Børge Solem
