Crewlist for SS Oscar II |
Charol Cordova | Where might I find the crewlist of the SS Oscar II sailing out of København, Denmark between 1906 - 1910?
Thanks.

thelebrity | I think the best you could do is sending an email to Erhvervsarkivet in Århus, Denmark. You will find a link at the site of the danish Rigsarkivet. They sent me copies of the ship-owner's scrap book and some other documents concerning the Oscar II accident in 1903, when the ship sprang leak and had to seek harbour in the Azores.

Borge | Hei Per Helge
Is that the kind of information you could share, to put up on the Oscar II page?
Børge Solem |
thelebrity | Of course, but It's quite some material, and it's more than one version of exactly what happened. I could make an extract and point to the various sources when they differ. I have also found an Aftenposten article about S/S Oslo before it's first trip in may 1906. The journalist is getting "the grand tour" onboard the ship describing both first, second and third class accommodities. If you're interested I could send you the text of that article too. But I'm afraid I don't have the capacity at the moment to translate them into english.

Borge | To make this web site a good resource for the visitors we relay on help from our friends, so your generous offer is much appreciated.
I think this is information that would be of great interest to many people. If you send it in Norwegian I will make the translations and put it up on the site.

Borge | Dear Carol
I just had news from my friend Søren Thorsøe, who is the author of a new book about the Thingvalla and Scandinavian America Line (which will be released soon). He told me that there are crew lists for each voyage and they are at:

Freda Schurr | Do you have a passanger list for Oscar 11 leaving Norway (not sure from where) for America in 1908..I know pretty broad topic but any help would be most appreciated.

thelebrity | If you make a search for a common name like Hansen at the Ellis Island databse, then narrow the search to 1908 and Oscar II, you should be able to browse through a scanned image of the complete passenger list of every journey the Oscar II made (if there was a Hansen or Olsen or what name you have chosen for your search, on board).
