Connecting from Hull to the US |
Eschmand | I have read about ships going to Hull. How do I find what ship was taken from Hull to the US. On the emigration digitalarkivet I can find a ship name for my grandmother but nothing further. Her name was Kristine Nilson leaving 6-2-1905 on the ship Romeo. Any help???
Thanks, Ellen

anvilheadtown | Migration via the Port of Hull - by Nicholas J. Evans - During the period 1836 - 1914 Hull developed a pivotal role in the movement of transmigrants via the UK. During this period over 2.2 million transmigrants passed through Hull. For a long period of time this was the most common route for Norwegian emigrants.

Borge | Also, in addition to Nick's article you should read the article about Hunting Passenger Lists , select the chapter about the Norwegian records, and you will find many answers.
