* after a piece of information, e.g. a patronymic or surname/farm name, indicates that the information is not given in the original, but included by the registrator on the basis of the information regarding the surrounding persons in the source. Like if a head of family was Lars Olsen Hauge, and his son was listes only as Peter, the entrance in the table would be Peter Larsen* Hauge*, based on the info given about his father.
