| jayhawk | Looking for information on Arthur or Thorleif Egeberg. I believe they were twins born September 13 in 1875 in Kristiana. I have pictures taken by Ernst Emil Aubert in Christiana and on the back it is written 14 Maumder gummil [I believe that is correct] and is dated November 1876, I have another one of them together with the photographer Thkeodor Larsens in Tonsberg. They look to be 4 or 5 years old in the last one. I believe their mother might have been Ida Marie Gorboe. Also looking for Frederik Waldemar Gorboe born 1855 in Kristiana. I believe Frederik W. was the brother if Ida Marie. Thank you

The head of household is Ulrikke Gorbal a widow. Their grandmother?? Waldmer Gorbal her son and Arthur and Torleif his sons ?? but probably Ida Maries (not listed) since their last name is Egeberg.

| Brining | Oops I missed Thorvald and Ida Egeberg in another household farther down the list in the 1875 census. Just scroll down further Don't know why the children are not listed with them.
This would be Thorvald in the 1865 census

| jayhawk | How would I find out when Thorleif or Arthur Egeberg were married, had any children and when they died. I can't get the 1875 Census in English and I can't decipher the Norwegian. Are they working on it? I can't figure out who Thorvald Charles Egeberg is. Thorvald Gorboe was my husbands grandfather and he came to the us in the 1870's I believe. Waldemar Frederik was his younger brother and I can't find out anything about what happened to him. Thank you for all your help.

| Brining | I didn't find any trace of Arthur or Thorleif in the 1900 census. You would probably have to go through microfilm records or try searching at the LDS site http://www.familysearch.org/

I would say that Thorvald Egeberg is the husband of Ida Marie Gorboe (Gorbal) and they are the parents of Arthur and Thorleif. There is also a Thorvald Gorboe as listed in the 1865 census I think they are two different people.
