Wrong arrival date for Hekla july 1893?
thelebrity	Your ship list states thst the Hekla, leaving Oslo june 22. 1893 arrived in New York july 4. But the original passenger list at the Ellis Island database says july 6. Per Helge Seglsten
Borge	Per Helge The date of arrival and the date of the passenger list is not necessarily always the same. The Hekla departed from Stettin on June 14, arrived at Copenhagen on June 15, departed Copenhagen June 20, called at Fredrikshavn on June 21, arrived at Kristiania June 21, departed ditto June 22, called at Kristiansand on June 23, and arrived to New York July 4. The date on the passenger lists is the date when the passengers were processed through the immigration station. Don't forget that July 4 is a public holiday. Børge Solem
