| oysteinstiansen | I'm looking for any information relating to the immigration of my great-grandfather:
Osten Olsson Aarthun, born July 21st 1886 in Sauda in Rogaland, Norway.
He's registered in the emigration protocol in Stavanger with the name OSTEN OLSSON AARTHUN, and emigrated from Norway on February 23rd 1905.
The ship "Oscar II" leaves Christianssand on Feb. 24th 1905, and lands in NY March 7th 1905. There's a person listed in the Ship Manifest as "OLE ุ OPTHUN". I cannot find him in the Ellis Island files, but I've found him on the ship manifest.
Could this be my great grandfather, and that his name has beeen misspelled?
There is a OSTEN O. AARTHUN listed in 1921 at Ellis Island, but he's born in 1904 and he's not my greatgranfather, but a relative.
Does anyone have access to he Boston immigration records to see whether he arrived there?
He left the USA in 1914 and returned to Norway. I have found him in the 1910 cencus in Treadwell county, Juneau, Alaska. he then used the name AIRSTEN ARTHUR.
