Lovstad family
jagphd	I am searching for any information on the Lovstad family. My gm came to the US (Westby, Wisconsin) in 1904 using the name "Lovstad"; her sister-in-law and 2 children came in 1905 using the same name. I cannot find out anything about the rest of the family using this name. The family lived in Ostre Toten near Skreia, were a part of the Totenvik parish, and the father, Ole Lovstad, worked on the "Vang" farm. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
thelebrity	You really don't give us much to go on here. But if you check the Løvstad farms in the 1900 census at this adress you might find some of the names you are looking for. The naming patterns were changing in Norway in this time period, and many people who had used the traditional patronym started to use farm names as their surname. There is one Ole Evensen at one of the Løvstad farms listed as a day worker. Maybe he is the right one. thelebrity	I guess it's the right farm, if Emma løvstad is your grandmother. Even must have left before Klara, Kristine and Petra. If you can't find him as Even Løvstad, Even Olsen is the next guess.
