Passenger List
martyjI am having trouble getting any passenger lists. I must be doind something wrong but don't know what. Please, help. martyj
BorgeWhat lists are you after?
martyjI am trying to find the ship that Maren Larsen came to America on. He was born May 30, 1883 and was 18 when she came over. Making the year 1901 or 1902. She lived in Dremmen. I haven't been able to find an list of passengers. I find the ships but then nothing. martyj
BorgeWell, if you are trying to find the passenger lists for 1901-1902 on this site you are looking on the wrong place. We only have the pre 1876 passenger lists. You should be searching the Digitalarkivet emigrant registers database, or maybe Ellis Island. You can find links to those other sites in the table further below on this page.
martyjWhere is or was Xania I found a very close match to my Maren Larsen but the residence says Xania instead of Drommen. Are they close to one another? She could have been working there. martyj
BorgeXania is an abbreviation for Chriatiania - Kristiania, now Oslo. Drommen is probably Drammen, not far from Oslo.
stillinlanHi Martyj, My Gr. Gr. Grandmother was Meren Lawson (Larsen) married to Lars Lawson (Larsen) of Kristiania, Norway. I have been trying to find family of my Gr. Grandfather, Fritjoff Lawson (Larsen) born in Kristiania on August 16, 1867. Is it possible that your Maren is one of his sisters? Do you have any information on her siblings? Lan
martyjMy Maren Larsen was born in Drammen in 1883 and came to South Dakota in 1901. Her parents names were Kristopher & Anne. She had three brothers & three sisters. Two brothers Lars & Andreas came to USA. The third brother's name was Sigurd Albert b. 1886 in Skroger. To my knowledge he stayed in Norway.
stillinlanThank you Martyj! I don't think they are related but I shall use your information. Good Luck on your journey. Lan

lingleHi, I'm trying to find the ship and port in Norway my gg-grandparents sailed from sometime pre-1895----to England. Then from England,in 1900 they went to USA to New York, then to Philadelphia, Pa. Their names were: Edward Larsen, born in 1860, and Sophie Iversen H/W , with mother Jeanette. No info on Jeanette's husband. I do know that Sophie was born either in Oslo or Olsfold. Thanks to all the nice people for any help.
Jo Anne SadlerPlease reading the Posting Guidelines - do not post your inquiry on some else's posting, start your own new one. That said, there is a Philadelphia passenger list index and it is available on microfilm rental from LDS - www:familysearch.org. If they came to Philadelphia, they should be on the index. The actual passenger lists are on microfilm also. I know of no Philadelphia passenger lists or indexes online.
catheMartyj: Try this site for immigrants coming to USA http://www.ellisislandrecords.org I hope that this helps. Cathe
