Bjørn	Hello can someone tell me where Ino in Wisconsin is.My Gr.grandma write this location in the paper when she arriwal Norway 27/5-1893 with the ship Wandrahm to Quebeck.She had two kids with her.How does she trawel form Quebeck to Ino.Ihope somone can answer my questiones. Bjørn [:)][:D]
raejack	I live in Wisconsin and never heard of Ino Wisconsin. It must be very small. But the internet says it is in or near Bayfield Wisconsin. That is a most beautiful area... the most north part of Wisconsin, on a peninsula which is on Lake Superior. Beautiful islands (Apostle Islands) are nearby. Hope this is helpful to you. Jackie
Bjørn	Hello Jackie.Thanks for the help.Lake Superior have heard about.When her sister came for visit in 1900,she had Ahland and Birch lake in Wisconsin the final destination.How can i find my gr.grandma down there.Her name was Jørgine Kristine anderson born in Ringerike 8 Sept.1869.She was married 2 times.My gr.grandpa daied in a accident before 1900 (Ole Christiansen)Her second man came from Sweden and he`s name was Johan Anderson.I hope someone can help me. raejack	Hello again. I found more information. Ino is on my Wisconsin map. It is in Bayfield County, Wisconsin, which is in the north and borders on Lake Superior. There is also a city of Bayfield (in Bayfield County)which is so beautiful right on the water with the Apostle Islands nearby. The town of Ino is on Highway 2 (a major highway)about 12 miles west of the larger city of Ashland, Wisconsin. (I was born in Ashland!) It is not on the Lake Superior, but is very near a national forest, beautiful area. The best way to search is in the Bayfield County records --- 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930 census should list the family. I might be able to help you since I will visit our Wisconsin State Archives in August. What are the names of children with her and what year were they born? I can try. My Norwegian ancestors came from Flekkefjord and Sannidal in 1871 to the city of Manitowoc, Wisconsin on Lake MIchigan. They were sailors, sea captains, ship carpenters. Jackie
Bjørn	Hello agin Jackie.I will be trilled if you can help me.My gr.grandma was married in Norway with Ole Christiansen Hafnor.He`s birthdate was 16 feb.1870.He dead in 1896 in a accident??.My gr.grandmas name was Jørgine Kristine Madsdatter birthdate was 08 Sept.1869.She emigration was in may 1894 to Quebec in Canada with the boat Wandrahm,how she came to Wisconsin ??.she had 2 children on the trip, Ingvald born 22 mars 1891 and Martin born 23 juli 1893.Ole og Jørgine get one daugther in Wisconsin also,hers name was Ida born 1895 in Us.Ole work with the train. Jørgine meet Johan Anderson one Swedish sailor who came to Ashland and later married Jorgine.They build house in Birch Lake.Jorgine and Johan get 4 children.Named.David, Emil,Johanna born in 1906 ? and Mary. Jorgines younger sister Marthe Marie Madsen born 1872 in Norway emigrated in 1900.She write in the emigrationpaper that she should wisit Johan Anderson in Birch Lake.I hope you understand my english Jackie and if it is something more,please let me now.Thanks Jackie for the help.[:)] Bjørn [:D]
Marjorie	One of the ways to enter the United States from Quebec was by way of St. Albans, Vermont as a Port of Entry. There is available a listing of those who came by this route. Right now I can't think of the web site for that but I will check it out...Or maybe someone else knows it now.. From St. Albans, families traveled usually by train to other destinations such as Wisconsin. I hope your search is successful.. Marjorie Menees.
