Additional Information: | | Submitted by Kåre Torgersen, 13. desember 2008 | Halvor Knudsen Brekke was born in Gjerpen parish in Telmark, wife Margit Hansdatter Brekke b. 1818 and 6 children, Knut b. 1847, Ingeborg b. 1849, Karen b. 1850, Ole b. 1852, Hans b. 1854, Maren b. 1856, Gunild b. 1858, dest. Portage County Wisconsin, family registration in Sandsvær on March 15. 1865.
Margit Hansdatter died 1865 on the journey in USA, she was born to Hans Olsen Lia/Brekke ab. 1795-died ab.1865 and Kari Pedersdatter Olledalen ab. 1792, she emigrated as a widow in 1865 with her daughter Margit and SIL.
Her daughter Berte Gurine emigrated already in 1860, she married Jon Jonsen/Olsen Furuvold in USA.
Ole (Halvorsen Brekke) born 1852 married Grete Olsdatter b. 1851 in 1877, she was also from Brekke and emigrated in 1873 with her parents and two sisters, reg. June 16. Ole and Grete´s son C.A. Halvorsen had a prominent position in Minnesota.
